Eat Here Or Go Out?
Two Squirrels were sitting underneath a tree and trying to decide if it was worth going out to get new acorns for dinner or if they were just going to eat the acorns they had at home.
“I’m too tired to go out and these are perfectly good acorns right here,” began Dormay, the first Squirrel.
“But we just had the acorns we have at home yesterday, and this morning, and the day before!” Cried Steward, the second Squirrel.
This was true and Dormay had to admit it. She and Steward had indeed had the acorns they had at home yesterday this morning and the day before. Sometimes eating the same thing over and over again can get boring. But, in Dormay’s defense, the acorns they had were still perfectly good acorns and they had to be eaten eventually too.
“Hey that’s a good point,” said Dormay.
“What’s a good point?” Steward asked.
“The point that was just made, about how the acorns we have here are perfectly good acorns and we have to eat them eventually anyway,” Dormay answered, confused.
“Well, that is a good point,” Steward answered, “But you never…”
“Never what?” Dormay said, on the defensive.
Steward decided it was probably best to just leave the discussion here and have the acorns they have at home. Then, it would give him way more leverage to go out and get acorns from somewhere else tomorrow.
“Yeah, that’s true too,” Steward said, “I’m good with that if you are?”
“Good with what?” Dormay asked, confused.
“Well, that we’ll have the acorns we have at h9me tonight and then tomorrow we can go ahead and have some acorns from out there somewhere,” Steward answered.
“Oh,” thought Dormay, “Well you didn’t say… Sure, let’s just go ahead and do that then.”
The two then sat down and enjoyed a wonderful dinner of acorns, thanks to us.
