By the time Mansi, a Squirrel, and her good friend and mattress delivery coworker Hulbert, a Rabbit, had finished up their last delivery of the day the sun was just beginning to set.
“Well I guess we worked till the sun went down again,” Mansi said to Hulbert.
Hulbert just sat quietly in their delivery trucks watching as the sun started to disappear over the horizon.
“I wonder if we could get the boss to send us out a little early or let us come back a little early,” Mansi continued, “Something about working from sun up to sun down that makes a fella feel pretty lousy.”
Hulbert continued watching the sun disappear over the horizon. It would soon be completely disappeared.
“You’d think after all this time everyone would have mattresses anyway,” continued Mansi.
Hulbert watched as the sun was shining its very last light on the day just passed.
“One day all the mattresses in the world will be delivered and then we can finally have some fun,” Mansi concluded.
The sun had finally set and Hulbert blinked as it disappeared. He had takin the moment to zone out and enjoy the last few moments of today’s warmth and glow before the sun ran out for the day. The few moments of his day that were his.
Mansi and Hulbert pulled their delivery truck back to the store.
“Well all in all it was a good day, glad I got you as a partner these days Hulbert. Makes the days go by quickly and efficiently. See you tomorrow.”
“I feel the same Mansi, See you tomorrow, maybe we’ll get out before the sun goes down so we can finally have some fun.”
