The Little Fox and The Big Bird
The Little Fox and The Big Bird
Today the Little Fox decided to go and see what the Big Bird was up to. The Little Fox hadn’t seen the Big Bird in nearly a week and he thought it would be fun to catch up with his older friend.
The Little Fox set out to find the Big Bird, but the Big Bird wasn’t always easy to find. Sometimes the Big Bird would disappear for days at a time and the Little Fox wouldn’t get to see his older friend for a very long stretch of time.
But when the Big Bird would come back to where the Little Fox lives he would always make it a point to find the Little Fox and talk about this and that and see how the Little Fox was doing and make sure that if the Little Fox has any questions about being alive he would answer them to the best of his Big Bird ability.
Today, the Little Fox was feeling particularly frustrated so he went looking for the Big Bird.
But, the Little Fox had no idea where even to look? It occurred to the Little Fox that while the Big Bird was always talking to him and answering his questions the Little Fox never really asked the Big Bird about it’s life. He didn’t know where the Big Bird went or what kind of adventures they had or what their favorite color was or even if it preferred food from black bags or from white bags.
So the Little Fox started searching, he looked up, then he looked down, then he looked behind him just to make sure he didn’t accidentally miss the Big Bird, he looked left and he looked right but the Big Bird was nowhere to be found.
The Little Fox started to feel bad, like it was his fault that he couldn’t find the Big Bird, because he never answered any questions that the Big Bird had. He was just a Little Fox and he didn’t have many answers about what it’s like to be alive but he wished that he could tell his older friend that he would try as hard as he could to answer any of the questions that the Big Bird had. Even if he didn’t know, he would try.
Really, he just wanted to see the Big Bird.
The Little Fox sat down under a tree and he saw a group of birds flying across the treetops. He thought that was cool and that hopefully the Big Bird was with his friends and that he wasn’t sad or anything like that.
“Hi Little Fox, what are you doing today?”
The Little Fox turned and to his surprise there was the Big Bird! Right behind him! The Little Fox knew he should have checked behind him!
“Hi big friend! I was looking for you!”
“You were? Well what luck, here I am! It’s so good to see you, tell me about your day...” The Big Bird asked the Little Fox.
The Little Fox began to tell the Big Bird all about the frustrations of his day, he had a few questions about trees and he also had some questions about how tall mountains are.
The Big Bird listened patiently, he took a second to think about all the questions the Little Fox had asked him. Then, he took a deep breath and tried to answer all of the Little Fox’s questions in the correct order and to the best of his ability. The Little Fox was very patient listened intently and was very appreciative.
