They Get It

An Armadillo and a Lizard were on a walk together. As they were walking the Armadillo couldn’t help but feel they were missing something. Something that would help complete this scene.

“Coffees!” Shouted the Armadillo, “That’s what we need!”

The Lizard, who wasn’t really privy to the conversation the Armadillo was having in his head, was taken by surprise.

“What are you talking about?” The lizard asked, perplexed.

“We should get coffees, right? Wouldn’t that be great?” The Armadillo responded, as he excitedly looked for a coffee shop nearby.

“Why do we need coffees though?” Continued the Lizard.

The Armadillo felt a twinge of annoyance. Obviously, when people walk they are always carrying coffees. Look at any rom-com or movie that has a high-powered executive that needs to strike a better work-life balance. Usually, they don’t learn they need to change till they spill the coffee on themselves and the rest of the movie unfolds.

“Because of the movies!” The Armadillo replied.

The Lizard could sense that this wasn’t going to be resolved and it would be best if he just moved on. And tried to catch on to the next conversation. After all, this always happened with the Armadillo he would have a conversation in his head, clue you in halfway through with zero context, and then act like you were there the whole time.

“Well, I guess I’ll catch the next train!” The Lizard said out loud.

This took the Armadillo by surprise. They were talking about coffee where did this train come from?

“What are you...”

You know what, the Armadillo thought, forget it.

The two friends walked along till they found a coffee shop. They grabbed their coffees and continued walking together. Each of them happy to have a friend who truly understood them
