Best Cocktail Ever Had

When the Bear walked up to the bartender he knew he wanted to get a special cocktail on this day. It was the Bear’s favorite type of day and he figured it called for a particularly excellent and special cocktail.

“Hello friend,” said the Bear to the bartender, “I’m in the mood for something special today but I don’t have any ideas as to what that would be, could you help me out?

The bartender, a seasoned professional and Snake, had heard questions, like this before. The question was a little annoying but the bartender could understand why people would ask this, so he didn’t begrudge them anything.

However, it was always a tough question to answer. The bartender didn’t know what the Bear would like or what he drank usually. Plus, even if the snake did know what the Bear usually liked to drink it was never a sure thing to make something new that would satisfy a person who was looking to have a good time because they were having a good day.

“Well,” the Bartender started, “I’ve got the perfect thing for you but first I have to ask a few questions.”

“Oh boy! I’m ready!” The Bear exclaimed.

“What do you usually like to drink?” Asked the Snake.

“Hmm… well usually I like an old fashioned…”

“Perfect!” The Snake replied, cutting off the Bear, “I know just the perfect thing to make you on this special day.”

The Snake got to work making a regular no-nonsense, by-the-book old-fashioned. There was nothing special about it at all. But, the snake did take extra care to make it very very well. It was perhaps one of the better old-fashioned he had ever made.

The Snake, from being a bartender for so long, knew a little secret that others didn’t know about celebrations. People who want to celebrate something special are really just looking to elevate the ordinary. Whole new experiences can be fun if that’s what you’re looking for but celebration is an exaltation of the life you live day-to-day.

“Here you are sir, I don’t have a name for this drink, but it’s made with celebration in mind, with lots of care and a few special dashes of extra fun.” Said the snake as he handed the drink to the Bear.

The Bear took a sip, “Oh wow, I love this! Thanks so much!”

The Bear opened a tab and sat to sip on his celebratory cocktail. What a perfect, wonderful day, capped off by sipping on the best special cocktail he’d ever had.
