Everything Is Weird

A Monkey and a Snake were out taking a walk together.

Well, really, the Snake was slithering and the monkey was swinging, but they were doing both side-by-side and together. So when we combine the variables those two elements become a walk.

On this walk, the snake turned to the Monkey and asked,

“Don’t you think it’s weird?”

“Don’t I think what’s weird?” The Monkey replied.

“Everything, all around us,” the Snake explained, “This whole thing.

“Oh yeah, sure,” the Monkey replied as he continued to swing. “It’s all pretty weird.”

The Snake somehow felt seen yet still dissatisfied. If his friend could see how weird things were why didn’t he also have the same outrage or uneasiness about the weirdness of life?

“Well, there’s nothing you can do about it other than to live in it you know?” The Monkey responded.

Now the Snake was confused. Had he said what he just thought out loud? He didn’t think that he had, yet somehow the Monkey had responded to exactly what he was thinking.

“Oh, I can read minds,” the Monkey clarified, responding to the thoughts in the Snake’s head.

“You’re kidding!” The Snake said out loud.

He must be messing with me there is no way he can actually know what I’m thinking... Blue Boar

“No it’s real, Blue Boar,” the Monkey answered again, “I’ve been able to for as long as I can remember, just something weird about me I guess.”

I’ll say, Jesus, that is weird. The Snake thought. Oh crap, the Monkey probably heard that. Sorry Monkey.

“Don’t mention it.” The Monkey replied, “I get it.”

“I guess the world is weird for everyone in different ways.” The Snake concluded.

“Wait, say that again,” the Monkey interjected. “I couldn’t hear you.”

“I GUESS THE WORLD IS WEIRD FOR EVERYONE IN DIFFERENT WAYS,” the snake repeated, a little louder this time.

“Sorry I’m too high up to hear let me get closer—

No no need for that, the snake thought quickly, all I said was I guess the world is weird for everyone in different ways.

“Oh, yeah… for sure.” The Monkey replied again. “Cool.”

Cool. The Snake thought.

And the two continued their walk.
