The Taco Stand Too?

Two Crabs were going to have a chat over tacos. Their chat was actually not just a chat but a very important discussion about the dire state of the world, and the tacos were not just any tacos but some of the best tacos in town. The Crabs, Leena, and Malina, had planned it this way on purpose. That way in between serious subjects they could have a bite of delicious tacos to cleanse their pallets and their minds.

The two sat down and decided what to order:

“Should we just order a lot of different tacos to try?” Leena asked.

“I’d be good with that,” Malina replied.

The server came by and asked what they would like to order.

“We’ll have 1 of all the tacos,” Leena ordered.

“And 2 of the fish tacos, those are my favorite,” Malina added.

“Oh, we’re out of fish tacos today, unfortunately, but I can get you one of everything else, is that okay?”

Leena said that was fine and the server left. Malina, however, was not fine.

“This is the worst day ever!” Malina exclaimed.

“I know, Leena concurred. It seems like every day just gets more and more dire than the next,” Leena concurred.

“I mean, what is the world coming to? It’s ridiculous!” Malina continued.

“It’s so upsetting.” Leena agreed. “What can we do? Should we call our representatives? That always seems like a fool’s errand.”

“Yes, we should call our representatives! What’s going on? Is there a fish shortage? If so, they need to take action now!”

Leena was confused. Malina continued:

“I mean honest to goodness if they don’t have fish tacos why even put them on the menu? I was looking forward to those all day. It’s the only thing that kept me going after all the bad news about the world this week.”

“Wait, you’re mad about the fish tacos?” Leena surmised.

“Of course, what were you talking about?” Malina replied.

“The dire state of world events! What we came here to discuss!”

“Well I didn’t know the world was going to get instantaneously more dire once we got here!” Malina replied.

“Well that seems silly to me, the world is collapsing around us at an alarming rate and you’re upset about fish tacos? That’s just ridiculous.” Rebuked Leena.

The server returned to ask the friends if they would like another taco instead of the barbacoa taco as they had just run out of that as well.

“The barbacoa, oh no, that was my favorite taco!” Leena replied.

“Not so ridiculous now, right? Everything is falling apart!” Malina added.

“You two seem to be having some tough times, do you want me to bring you anything while you’re waiting on your tacos?” The server asked.

“Hmm, that’s not a bad idea,” Leena started.

“Yeah agreed.” Malina concurred

“How about some guac—“

“Hang on before you say it we’re out of guacamole right now.”

Malina and Leena left the restaurant full of righteous indignation. It was clear as day to both Leena and Malina that nothing would get fixed until the taco place got fixed. They hadn’t even made it to the parking lot before calling their representatives to complain.
