Where To Celebrate?
A Rabbit and Cardinal went to a Pita Pit to celebrate the Cardinal’s third consecutive first-place finish in the town’s annual juggling tournament.
The Cardinal had juggled more items, for longer than anyone else in the competition and was on cloud 9 after his third win.
The Rabbit was happy for his friend but could never understand why they always went to Pita Pit to celebrate the Cardinal’s accomplishments. Don’t get me wrong, Pita Pit is a fine establishment for a casual, quick, lunch that doesn’t involve a lot of fried food. But heavens to Betsy why would you want to go there for a celebration??
“I never really thought of anywhere else,” The Cardinal replied, “I just really like Pita Pit.”
The Rabbit knew he had to accept this answer. It was the Cardinal’s big day and it was his choice where he wanted to eat.
“But why wouldn’t you want to go someplace that makes like a real Pita? Something authentic?” The Rabbit continued.
The Cardinal looked around.
“This seems like a pretty authentic Pita Pit, don’t you think? I’ve always liked this Pita Pit.” The Cardinal responded, “Why? Where would you go if you had won the juggling championships?”
“I’d probably go have a 5-star meal!” The Rabbit exclaimed, “It’s a celebration!”
The Cardinal was taken back. If he was being honest with himself he never even thought of getting a 5-star meal. He always just got what he knew he liked and that felt good enough.
“I’d want wine and a big steak and mashed potatoes, and cheesesteak and all the good stuff I could get.” The Rabbit continued.
The Cardinal thought for a moment, none of the things that the Rabbit was mentioning were anything the Cardinal was fond of eating anyway.
“I think I just like Pita Pit,” said the Cardinal, resigned, as he took a big satisfying bit of his delicious Pita, “Pita Pit and Juggling.”
