Bandwagon Bunnies

Two Rabbits were jumping and hopping onto the latest bandwagon for the hottest football team this season. The two rabbits did this every year. They would wait a few weeks to see which teams were doing really good and then around week 10 or 11 of an 18-week season they would decide that team was their favorite team and they hoped they won a Super Bowl.

Many diehard fans had a problem with the two Rabbits doing this. They would say things like,

"You're not a real fan!"

"You don't understand what it's like to be a fan of a team through the ups and the downs!"

"You two just care if a team is doing well!"

The Rabbits didn't really have anything to say in response to these diehard fans. Because, well, they agreed with them.

"Is it more fun when a team is going through downs or when they are going through ups." Walter, the first Rabbit would ask.

"It's more fun when they're going through ups!" Diehard fans would answer.

"Well, what's the difference between being a real fan and a..." Jillian, the second bunny began, "Um... A... A not real fan?"

"Well, real fans support their team no matter what! It's what makes the team feel better when they're not that good," the diehard fans would respond. "Otherwise the team just assumes no one cares for them and they get sad and then they never get better.

The two Rabbits had to admit this made a dent in their feelings.

They didn't want to be the type of people to leave a team feeling sad just because they weren't playing very well. Maybe being a bandwagon fan wasn't really the nicest thing to do even though it felt the best.

"Well," Walter said to Jillian, "Seems like there are enough dopes out there to cheer teams up when they aren't very good."

"Yeah," Jillian responded, "They don't need two more people telling them it's okay if they suck."

"Exactly!" Walter exclaimed.

"I love learning nothing!" Jillian added.

And they two couldn't wait to watch their favorite team win the Super Bowl for the 13th year in a row.
